Electronic lock
Normally this lock would open with a keypad, but can also be opened by a
key in case of emergency.
Grade 3 lock
Would be low end residential lock
Grade 2 lock
Is a better lock then a grade 3 lock
Grade 1 lock
Is always better than grade 2 lock and is usually used for commercial use.
Key Alike Locks
Locks working with the same key
Master Key
A key that will open a group of locks and each lock has its own separate
key
Rekey
Changing the combination of the lock so that the existing keys will not
work anymore and new keys will work.
Medeco Locks
A high security lock that is a harder lock to pick, drill and has key
control. The keys are cut on different angles. The New Medeco lock has 3 locking systems. All 3
systems must be aligned for the key to operate. Normally these locks are
grade 1 locks.
Assa Locks
These are high security locks. There are 2 cuts on the key. One to operate
the tumblers and the other to operate the side bar. When both align, the
key will operate. This is a harder lock to pick, & drill, and has key
control. Normally these locks are grade 1 locks.
Mul-T-lock
High security lock that uses pin within a pin technology. This is a hard
lock to both pick and drill. It also has key control. Normally these locks
are grade 1 locks.
Trades qualified locksmiths
A locksmith that has challenged the exam put out by the Trades and has
exceeded minimum Standards on this test.
BC Trades Qualified
A locksmith that has challenged the exam put out by the Province of BC and
has exceeded minimum Standards on this test.

Schlage Primus
Provides higher security than the regular schlage lock. The Schlage Primus keys could work in regular schlage locks.
